Q. Where can i buy these items?

A. All these items are made for Second Life™ in Second Life™. So they are only available there, in-world. Well, technically you can also buy Caverna Obscura items online (via SL Marketplace website) but the items will be delivered in Second Life™. You can learn more about Second Life™ HERE. Q. Why so expensive?

A. Really, it’s not! For the quality Caverna Obscura provides, it is really not expensive at all! I constantly keep an eye on the market and try to keep my prices in the middle range. Also, the prices are rather towards the lower end, because for the amount of work, imagination, skills, effort and time i put in my work i could have easily asked twice as much, but i try to keep the prices the lowest possible.

Q. What are permissions of the items you sell?

A. All my prim items are copy/mod/no trans. All my clothing layers items, tattoo layers and skins are no mod/ copy/no trans. That’s pretty common practice and is done for customer’s most convenience to be able to fit prim parts as they choose to their shape with the freedom to always revert back to the original copy. However, the textures on the clothing layers need to be protected, that is why it’s no mod. The different variations of clothing layers (f.ex. longsleeved and sleeveless) are included in the most designs to compensate the lack of “mod” permission.

Q. How can I buy a Caverna Obscura item as a gift?

A. I am very sorry but right now the only way to buy a Caverna Obscura item as a gift is via SL Marketplace website (link on the right side of this page).

Q. How can I join Caverna Obscura V.I.P. group in SL?

A. If you want to become a member of Caverna Obscura V.I.P. group in SL to receive the news, updates, info about new releases, group gifts and to be able to use the Lucky Board, please contact Elvina Ewing in world with the transaction info of your recent purchase at CO shop (at least L$250 worth), OR show me a picture of yourself wearing something made by Caverna Obscura (not available at the Lucky Boards!) WITH YOUR NAME TAG clearly visible. These rules apply for everyone, with the exception of those who have absolutely blank profiles. It may sound paranoid, but i just don’t trust people who cannot be bothered to take care of their SL profiles. Those people won’t get an invite, sorry. Thank you for your understanding!

Q. Caverna Obscura only carries female outfits! What about us males?! Why don’t you create any male stuff? Will you ever make some?

A. I dont make male outfits. Period. And i doubt i ever will. There are several reasons for that, like:
a) i’m female myself both in SL and RL and have no idea actually what males would and would not wear;

Now, males are often complaining that there are too little quality fantasy male clothing out there, that a lot of it looks gay and such. The problem is: i myself have no idea what looks gay and what not, and what are the odds of me making just that kind of outfits, too? The problem is, i am not sure, and honestly, don’t care enough to figure it out.

b) i am absolutely uninspired when it comes to male clothes, while the ideas for female outfits are brewing in my mind all the time! In fact there are so many of the new ideas in my head that i just don’t have enough time to realize them all and there is always a waiting list for what i am going to be making next for several weeks, and sometimes even months long! Please understand: this is what makes my outfits so great – the new ideas, inspiration and passion that i have for making those fantasy outfits i would have loved to be wearing myself in rl! I don’t have that with male clothing at all, obviously, so this means i simply cannot create male outfits of the comparable quality even in the least. I am very sorry, but begging me to consider creating those just has no point!

Q. Do you do custom fitting?

A. Usually i don’t. But i’m glad to help you with advice, especially if you’re new to SL. If you really cannot fit an item you bought at Caverna Obscura, i even can send you a modifiable shape for free so that you could use it as a reference, or give it your own face f.ex. and wear it with the outfit. So if you like the idea don’t hesitate to contact me On some special occasions i even might do custom fitting myself for you, but then there must be a really good reason for that. Oh, and have i mentioned i prefer very nice and friendly people?

Q. I bought an outfit from you but there are flowers (bows, spiders etc.) on it, can you remove them for me?

A. All prim attachments are modifiable so that you can link, unlink, recolor, retexture, resize or script any part yourself. Please don’t ask me to do that for you, i won’t. I will not be redoing the textures, or prim design: i have designed it once the way it is for a reason, and i won’t be redoing it without a very very good reason. Suggestions are welcome though, but without any promises or obligations.

Q. Do you make custom outfits?

A. It depends. I certainly welcome creative ideas! If i like your idea and feel it might really work well, i will put it on my list. It usually means it will take weeks and sometimes even months (depending on the difficulty, time in-world and size of the list) before it comes out. And when it does, be prepared that i will be selling this item in my store after that. But you will even get a discount for your original idea! If you want an exclusive item that only you will have and nobody else, i will have to disappoint you that i won’t do such things, not even for L$100000. There is only one condition i would make an exclusive custom outfit: if you know a good way to promote and advertise my store and will do it for me in return. Think blogs, good reviews on popular sites or some other good publicity.

Q. Where do you get sculpts for your outfits? Can you sell me so-and-so sculpt?

A. I make something like 95% of all the sculpts used in Caverna Obscura items myself. General rule: all the clothing items like fabric folds, hoods, sleeves, collars, shawls etc. are made by myself; the decoration items like leaves, gems, shells, flowers, mushrooms are mostly made by myself as well, but sometimes if i can find very nice full perm ones on SL Marketplace cheaply (for less than L$500, rarely more) i will buy those for the time’s sake. All my sculpts are only available as parts of Caverna Obscura items, i will not sell them full perms to be used somewhere else. If you really need some sculpt for a character you are working on, i might sell/give you one as a copy/mod/no trans object. But the sculpted maps are not for sale.

Q. Will you rent at my mall/sim/market?

A. I am sorry to disappoint you: i don’t have time anymore to take care of rented booths. You don’t want me as your renter, really, as i’m constantly being late with paying my rent, unless you want to keep chasing me down weekly to get the rent paid… Caverna Obscura has grown up to the point where i hardly can manage everything myself and sadly, i have to figure out my priorities.  If your place has ridiculous amount of traffic daily you should definitely point my attention to this fact, otherwise your offer will most probably get lost unanswered in the bottomless pit that is my inventory If you want to offer me some space free of charge so that i won’t have to come back weekly to renew the rent, i will gladly accept. If you want to offer me “split profit” instead of rent, i will have to decline.

Q. I have won so-and-so outfit at the Lucky Board at Caverna Obscura, but i didn’t receive the item. Can you please resend it to me? ( also: I missed the Monthly Group Gift because i was on vacation etc. can you please send it to me?)

A. This kind of questions usually really piss me off! You must understand the reason why these things are called LUCKY Boards! If you didn’t receive an item even if it was your letter on the board, i guess you were not that lucky after all, simple as that! Try again, next time better! Monthly gifts are there at least for a week, and mostly much longer. Plenty of time to come and collect them! Still, if you miss it, well you can get the next one next month! But i sure am not here to provide everybody with free outfits i put so much time, sweat and tears in making! Please respect my work and don’t bother me with similar offending questions, thank you!

Q. I write for a fashion blog, can i have some sample outfits for a review?

A. If you are a blogger writing for/about an event Caverna Obscura is participating in (like Fantasy Faire etc.), please don’t hesitate to contact me for free samples. For all the others: I stopped sending out free samples. I had many of such requests in the past when i’d send several outfits for free to such “bloggers”, to never hear back from them again anymore. I have no way of knowing if they were scammers or they actually did write about any of those outfits i sent them. If they were serious and professional, i would expect them to get back to me with the final result. Thus I assume they were just freebie hunters. So i don’t send free outfits anymore. Of course you are free to buy any outfit and blog about it all you want.

If your question is not listed here, you can always contact me in world, or leave me a comment here. The best way would be to just send me an IM in world. Notecards are ok too, though they clutter the inventory and get capped just like IMs do, if there’s too much coming in at the same time, so they can be lost. All my IMs are redirected to my emailbox so you can be pretty sure i read them all, however if you just sent me a notecard and it got lost i will never know what was in it.

I don’t respond to questions that are listed above, for the obvious reason Also be sure you have read this FAQ and STORE POLICIES (link on the right side of this page) before you contact me. I don’t respond to trivial questions and silly questions as i simply don’t have time for this. I try to respond to the praises, thanks and fanmail but i cannot always find time for that either But you can be pretty sure that i do read them all and i appreciate it very much!! ♥ It helps to relieve my doubts about some outfit sometimes too, if i didn’t feel very confident about its design… So i hereby want to thank everyone who has ever sent me good feedback about my work and never heard from me back! ♥

I will always reply to any inquiries regarding the styling, like hair, skin, jewelry etc. in the poster pictures. I will always help you out if you have any particular problem with an outfit. You can ask me for another layer option of some part of a Caverna Obscura outfit you own, like a jacket layer instead of the shirt f.ex. But i will not be redoing the textures, or prim design: i have designed it once the way it is for a reason, and i won’t be redoing it without a very very good reason. Suggestions are welcome though, but i seldom respond to those, even if i might consider any of them, though i do read them all.
